Starting from an architectural competition launched by Ferrero in 2018 I elaborated my bachelor degree project.
The theme was the design of the interior space of three rooms of different size, dedicated to employees working on the production line. A space where to have a snack or simply rest 15 minutes before coming back to work. A guideline for the project was to create modular spaces.

The title I gave to my project is: "15 MINUTES - FREE SPACE". 15, referring to the duration of the stop, and free space because I created a space free from any scheme. I have not established a unique function for each part of the project, but realized the space from an aesthetic point of view, taking care of costs and functionality. All the shelves are designed empty, and with shapes not related to the function: the intended use will be established only later by people.
The main characteristic is the fact that all the project is made of cardboard, and is
an explosion of colors and shapes, mixed together to create an innovative and engaging space.

The design process started from the study of the Ferrero brand Identity, starting from its history, its view and way of acting, going to the identification of the color palette. Then I've chosen the material to use (cardboard) according to the interest of the brand into the sustainability theme, and finally studied a pattern and created a CONCEPT to develop the tridimensional project.

VISUAL CONCEPT

The structure is free from any joint, totally made of honeycomb cardboard cut and shaped to be resistant once stuck together. The environment is highly flexible and renew it, even after a short time, is simple and low price: just replacing a panel with another with different patterns the environment completely changes.
